At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe. The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered. In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management. The Product Quality team provide comprehensive quality support to the complete manufacturing process including Bottling Operations, Spirit Supply, Supplier Liaison, Co-packer Operations and Warehouse / Finished Goods Audits. They are part of the wider Quality team within our Manufacturing function who support the business with Product Quality, Quality Systems and Improvement, Supplier Quality and Technical Training alongside Regulatory & Food Safety. Your unique contribution The Quality Analyst will work alongside the bottling operations team within their designated production factory ensuring specific quality standards are met. This role requires a flexible approach across shift patterns across the site in order to meet business needs. You will have five main areas of responsibility: Quality Support & Improvement – to provide comprehensive support to the Manufacturing team, working proactively with Bottling, Vatting and Engineering Teams to resolve quality issues. Review performance data and attend meetings, providing data and reports from problem solving and trend analysis. You will lead improvement initiatives and problem-solving investigations to successful conclusion, sharing good practice with colleagues. Product Quality – to ensure appropriate frequency and effectiveness of end of line / bottling line quality checks, ensuring they are recorded on relevant systems. You will monitor capacity checks and ensure all warning & action limits are communicated to Bottling team. You will also ensure all spirit analytical and organoleptic checks comply and work with Vatting and Blending teams to resolve issues. Material Quality – to evaluate dry goods components and assess as per our Quality model. You will manage the Material Inspection Return process to ensure that sub-standard dry goods are quarantined and rejected from site and liaise with suppliers to ensure Corrective and Preventative Actions are rigorously followed through and costs are recovered where appropriate. New Product Trials – to effectively support line trials (led by either NPD or Packaging Engineering) and where required attend trial meetings. You will assist in developing new product tests and ensure appropriate action is taken to close out trial hold records. Compliance & Audits – to carry out line / hall audits to ensure compliance to standards and action any non-conformances and conduct warehouse audits in a timely manner as required by company standards. Who you’ll be working with Internally, you will collaborate with the wider Quality team as well as other areas of Manufacturing, including Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, Bottling, Engineering, Health and Safety and New Product Development as well as other functions such as Finance. Externally, you will collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure delivery of services to the highest standard.
