Closing Date 2025-04-02 Job Title: Project Controller Salary: Up to £38,000 (however can be higher or lower depending on persons skills) Location: Hybrid working (expectation of Falmer 1-2 days a week and a site visit once a month, WFH the rest of the time) Permanent Hours: 37 On a day-to-day basis the project controller is there to support the Project Managers by facilitating ownership of the cost, schedule, risk, change and reporting data by the Project Manager. The role will also support the Project Planning and Controls Lead in providing project information required to develop an integrated status of the Southern Water Capital Programme. This will cover all work being carried out by the Capital Water, Capital Wastewater teams, this role will be providing support to the Project Managers within those portfolios. This individual will be part of a broader team of Project Controllers and Planners, with each team supporting a Portfolio. Key Activities: Responsible for collating, analysing and presenting information to support the insight of the Portfolio and analysing ‘Corporate Reporting’ and outcomes / outputs for the investment Programme to allow timely and efficient investment decisions. Ensure that programmes and plans are in place to enable delivery of the work in the most effective way, providing clear financial and schedule forecasting. Ensure the production of appropriate baseline programmes for delivery with prioritised interventions and within a robust commercial framework and approach Exert significant influence on standardisation of processes and procedures, including be accountable for ensuring that compliance and governance processes are maintained in all aspects of project, programme and portfolio planning, delivery and closure as well as adherence to investment policies, procedures and processes (The ALP) Knowledge/experience: Established credentials and relative experience in a Project, Programme or Portfolio Management environment, ideally within the Water Industry Excellent knowledge and application of programme and portfolio management tools and techniques Preferable to have recognised Portfolio, PMO or Programmes accreditation e.g. Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), P30 and experience working with Primavera and/or other planning tools Commercial acumen and ability to think strategically across the portfolio Experience of working with senior stakeholders Works well in a team and demonstrates collaborative behaviours.
