Space Catering (UK) Ltd is a successful foodservice design and build contractor operating primarily within the hospitality industry. Having been owner-managed for the first 15 years of its existence, it was acquired by Nisbets Plc in 2016, but has retained its identity as a separate business focused on projects across numerous end user sectors. About the role:
To support Space Group’s growth aspirations, the ‘Furniture BDM – Office Sector’ role has been created to support the expansion of our business. In an ever changing and volatile end user market, we believe that our senior customer facing staff need to be versatile, adaptable and have a broad skillset in order to react at the right pace to meet customer needs, against this market backdrop.
This role encompasses sales, administration and project management and requires an individual with sufficient agility to manage all these aspects in a fast moving environment. It suits an individual who is excited by operating, at times, outside of their comfort zone rather than fearful of it. That said, full training and ongoing support with be given and the successful candidate would have the benefit of a large and successful business supporting them.
The Space BDM will be part of the Space Contract Furniture team and report to the Head of Furniture. He / she will be set a new business sales and GP target, allowing for a pipeline to be built up in year one. A generous and achievable open ended bonus scheme will form part of this role.
Key responsibilities
* Self-source new business leads to deliver incremental business.
* Handle leads from incoming enquiries and / or from existing customers on an ad hoc basis.
* Build relationships with Interior Designers, end users, QS’s with a view to selling all divisions of the Space Group within the Hotel sector.
* Hold introductory meetings with key decision makers / influencers to present the Space Contract Furniture and the wider Space Group.
* Attend briefing meetings to take full client brief.
* Undertake technical site surveys.
* Produce and present quotes (quote tools will be provided).
* Present designs and quotes back to clients.
* Project management of own converted projects. NB. some projects may be handed over to other PMs where geographically expedient to do so.
* Liaising closely with Nisbets teams.
* Set up incoming leads on our CRM system in line with best practice. Take responsibility to ensure all lead information is regularly updated on CRM system.
* Be responsible for working with our central design and admin functions, arranging, when required: visuals / full quoting / project ordering in line with Space normal operating processes.
* Ensure that large or complex projects, or projects which involve a considerable amount of building work are progressed in the most appropriate way to maximise the chances of conversion. This may require the involvement of other Space personnel, or handing the project over to other personnel if it is more suited to another project / account manager. This should be judged on a project by project basis in conjunction with your line manager.
Expected qualifications and experience:
* Experience within the Office sector as a Sales representative.
* A knowledge of the contract furniture industry.
* Experience in specifying product with designers or end users.
