Position: ASD Support Worker

Hourly Rate: £12.82
Start Date: November 2024
Do you have a passion for supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and helping them thrive in an educational setting? We are looking for an enthusiastic ASD Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to pupils with ASD, fostering a positive and inclusive environment that encourages each student to reach their full potential. In this role, you’ll play a key part in implementing personalised learning plans, helping students overcome challenges, and supporting them in their personal and academic growth.
Role Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored, 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD, assisting in their day-to-day learning activities and helping them engage fully with the curriculum.
* Collaborate with the teaching team, implementing behaviour policies consistently to create a structured, calming environment.
* Engage students in group activities that encourage social skills and communication.
* Embrace and promote the school’s values, supporting the holistic development of students.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in an SEN or ASD support role (preferred but not essential) or a background in working with individuals with additional needs.
* A patient, proactive, and resilient attitude – understanding the importance and challenges of working with ASD pupils.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Requirements:
* The right to work in the UK, an updated CV with two recent references, and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply).
