Site Assistant (Maintenance Assistant)
37.5 hours per week
£12 per hour, £23,464 pa

Are you a proactive maintenance person with a wide range of practical skills? Not only will you carry out a variety of maintenance tasks, you’ll oversee volunteers and contractors ensuring work is carried out with minimal disruption.
Sue Ryder Neurological Care Centre Dee View Court is a specialist neurological care centre based in Kincorth, Aberdeen, caring for people aged 18 and over with a range of neurological conditions. At Dee View Court, we provide the care people need to optimise their health and wellbeing, maximise their independence and support their emotional and social needs.
About the role:
1. Carry out maintenance duties including basic electrical, painting, plumbing and carpentry
2. To ensure work spaces are kept clean, clear and free of obstruction
3. Carry out periodic inspections and checks and update the maintenance schedule
4. Assist in the supervision and management of external contractors
5. Carry out removal of waste and maintain the refuse area
6. Ensure all work complies with Sue Ryder policies, Care Standards and other regulations and requirements
7. Ensure due attention to health and safety matters whilst carrying out any works
It's an exciting time to join Sue Ryder and to hit the ground running ideally you will have knowledge of Health and Safety, COSHH and other relevant legislation.
About you:
1. Skilled in a range of minor maintenance procedures
2. Able to work within policies and procedures
3. Be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
4. Demonstrable skills in supervising others
5. Hold a PAT certificate or be prepared to undertake training
6. Ability to work closely with service users and communicate effectively with them
7. Hold a valid driving license
