Haslemere Town Council Job Description
Post Title: Project and Amenities Officer
Reports to: Deputy Town Clerk
Job Purpose:
To provide practical and administrative support for the council’s assets, external spaces, and projects, including:
1. Inspection, maintenance and repair of Council assets
2. Allotment inspection and management
3. Project support for the council’s ad hoc projects
4. Management of the council’s issues log
Principal Accountabilities:
1. General Administration:
1. Carrying out routine fire alarm tests, PAT testing and other Health & Safety testing requirements
2. Administering Haslemere’s CCTV cameras
3. Preparing reports for meetings as required
4. Attending meetings or events as required. All Haslemere Town Council staff support some events outside of core office hours each year
5. Assist in electronic record management, to include updating the Council’s project register and issues log
2. External maintenance and management:
1. Routine inspection of Council maintained open spaces, including allotments and playgrounds, and dealing with issues identified
2. Management of public toilets and store room
3. Reading of various meters across Council assets
4. Ad hoc remedial repairs to Council assets
3. Projects:
1. Producing project specifications/reports for Council in line with Town Council policies
2. Meeting contractors & obtaining quotes, overseeing works of contractors (where delegated)
3. Providing project support for Clerk and Deputy Clerk, to include assisting with project planning for contracts
4. Project management of some projects
4. Additional requirements:
1. With sufficient notice, the ability to work flexible hours, including ad hoc evenings and weekends, as required, to meet project deadlines and / or attend Town Council meetings or events
2. A current driving licence and car is essential
3. A Health and Safety qualification would be desirable. Training will be provided for the right candidate
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From £22,110.00 per year
Expected hours: 30 per week
