SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Swindon, UK
Salary: £95 - £105 per day
Contract: Full-time, Temp-to-Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Swindon.
The successful candidate will support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them thrive in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to children with SEMH needs.
- Develop and deliver engaging, inclusive learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Promote positive behaviour and support children in managing their emotions.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods as required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs.
- Relevant qualifications, such as Level 3 Teaching Assistant or CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to working with children.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
This temporary role offers the potential for extension and is available for an immediate start.
