Exciting opportunity for a full-time Financial Controller for a small, family-owned company, based in Chesterfield. Earnings between £40k - £50k depending on experience.
Position Overview:
As Financial Controller, you will have responsibility for ensuring that the finance department is fit for purpose, the everyday operational tasks are completed accurately and on time for the production of all financial reports. You will be expected to fully manage the department, having a hands-on role assisting the wider team in its day-to-day activities and working alongside each department within the business.

Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the compilation and submission of financial reports to allow departmental managers and senior team members to understand and measure the key business drivers.
* Proposing changes in processes, procedures, and ensuring that the team have the relevant skills to complete their tasks.
* Manage the preparation and submission of payroll and VAT.
* Liaison with external accountants.
* Day-to-day management and mentoring of the Finance Team.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate will be:
* QBE, CIMA / ACCA full / part qualified with demonstrable experience that aligns with the role.
* Possess the ability to work to deadlines.
* Show excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to build strong effective relationships with stakeholders.
* Excellent analytical skills with advanced Excel skills.
* Strong technical skills, a solid grounding in finance, ideally from a practice background. Understanding debits, credits, P&L and balance sheet.
* Demonstrable experience in accounting preparation, including, but not limited to, prepayments, accruals, stock takes, bank reconciliations.
Terms & Benefits:
* 37.5 hours per week.
* Salary of £40k - £50k per annum depending on experience.
