We now have an exciting new opportunity to join us as a Forecasting Analyst based in Ipswich.
You’ll have the option for hybrid working, allowing you to be where you need to be. The team typically works from the office 1-2 days per week.
About the role
As part of the Pricing and Hedging team, you will be responsible for running, monitoring, and intervention of the Pricing & Hedging forecasting models, ensuring accurate and timely forecasts to enable our trading, pricing, and finance teams to make cost-effective decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Running, monitoring, and the intervention of forecasting models for both import and export.
2. Monitoring of the supply and renewable portfolios to ensure an accurate hedge.
3. Support problem solving throughout the Forecasting team, Commercial, and other key business areas including Renewables, Strategic Sales, and Finance.
4. Support bespoke and time-critical analysis, such as tenders, hedging decisions, or new product development.
5. Help identify possible areas for improvements in modelling and forecasting.
About you
1. You possess a good honours degree in an numerate discipline or equivalent.
2. Strong IT skills including Advanced Excel, SQL, PowerBI, and VBA (experience of Python nice to have).
3. A self-starter and able to work independently.
4. You are able to take a new problem, help determine the requirements and use your knowledge, experience, and initiative to support the development of analytical models and reports to produce a solution which is appropriate for the situation and stakeholders.
5. You are an excellent communicator, both written and oral; able to distil and explain complex information in a straightforward way taking the audience into account.
6. Ability to review, assess and identify forecasting trends and customer insight.
