As a Scientist for Hydrometry, you will act as an ‘Area Hydrologist’ for the Dumfries area of the hydrometric network, working closely with an Assistant Scientist and other members of the South West Hydrometry team to ensure the quality of hydrometric data collected meets SEPA’s needs. Your role will include: Operating and maintaining the Hydrometric network within the Dumfries area Analysing and reporting quality-controlled results in a timely manner Working with assistant scientists to plan field visits to include maintenance and meeting gauging targets Participate in the operation of flood warning systems as a Duty Officer on a rota basis as required Respect for your expertise This is a highly important role within our Data, Evidence and Innovation Portfolio.
