A global leader in medical technology, is seeking a dynamic Moulding Production Technician to join a team in Plymouth. You'll be part of a cutting-edge manufacturing operation, playing a vital role in producing millions of life-saving medical devices each year. What You'll Do: Precision Manufacturing: You'll use your expertise to operate injection moulding machines, producing high-quality plastic components (Vacutainer Tubes & Caps) that contribute to the advancement of healthcare. Technical Expertise: You'll work with state-of-the-art technology, including packaging robots, vision inspection systems, and automated assembly units, in a highly technical and fast-paced environment. Problem-Solving: You'll troubleshoot any issues with the machines or processes through root cause analysis and technical fault finding (Mechanical & Electrical). Maintenance: You'll be responsible for completing routine planned maintenance, including weekly, monthly, and 6-monthly tasks. You'll also assist the PM Technician with annual maintenance activities on machines. Continuous Improvement: You'll actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste (e.g., 5S, Gemba Activities, Kaizen, TIMWOODS). Teamwork: You'll collaborate with a talented and dedicated team, including Operators, Quality Technicians, Engineers, and Shift Leaders. Data Management: You'll document production data and maintain accurate records through SAP. Quality Control: You'll conduct regular inspections of equipment and materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Workplace Standards: You'll maintain a clean and organised work area. What We're Looking For: Essential Requirements: A qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (e.g., C&G, HND) or a time served apprenticeship. Experience in maintenance and fault finding in a manufacturing environment. Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with others. Valued Skills: Experience in an Electrical Technical based role. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques. Previous experience of Injection Moulding (desirable although not mandatory).
