Job summary Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to utilise and develop your clinical skills in a specialist area? If so, this role could be for you working as part of the experienced Critical Care Therapy team. This team is delighted to be able to offer Occupational Therapy within critical care providing functional assessment and rehabilitation across 7 days a week. Previous experience working within critical care is not essential though experience working within an acute hospital setting providing physical and cognitive therapies to patients is. The successful candidate will work alongside Physiotherapists, Therapy support workers and the wider critical care multi-disciplinary team providing patient centred care, helping to optimise recovery through engagement in physical, cognitive and psychological therapies supporting patients and their families and provide advice and support with discharge planning All of our specialist Occupational Therapists receive supervision and mentorship from a member of our highly specialist team who will offer direction in terms of clinical development and leadership development. Main duties of the job To assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own specialist caseload of complex patients as an autonomous practitioner in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council Regulations. The post holder will work in close co-operation with colleagues within all Care Groups to deliver a cohesive service that is user led ensuring a consistently high standard of patient care, optimal patient flow that is safe and timely. To work closely with team managers and senior therapists to ensure a robust structure of training, supervision and appraisal is delivered to all members within the team. To act as a source of Specialist advice and support within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust and the wider health service. Engage or lead on projects to develop services and learning opportunities for others including band 5's, assistant practitioners and students as well as celebrating learning and achievements with the wider therapy and MDT teams.
