* To organise and prepare nutritional meal plans to a high standard including special diets.
* Be responsible for the cost control, usage and ordering of supplies on a regular basis.
* Ensure all practices meet with Environmental Health Standards.
* Be responsible for ongoing staff training within the department., Principle Duties
* To plan menus following liaison with Manager and Service Users.
* To prepare meals and special diets according to each individual Service Users needs following assessment by nursing staff.
* To allow Service Users freedom and choice and accommodate their wishes with regards to their diet.
* To order, check and store all deliveries received promptly as per food type.
* To ensure quality produce at an acceptable price is ordered by liaising with Manager.
* To ensure that staff are well supervised at all times and are aware of their responsibilities with regards to rules, regulations and condition of work.
* To cover colleague's duties in times of sickness and/or holidays maintaining adaptability at all times.
* Ensuring equipment is used correctly, cleaned and maintained on a regular basis documenting same in cleaning schedules.
* To undertake induction training and participate in training programmes which may be required either by law or company standard.
* To abide by the home's security precaution at all times.
* To comply with regulations in respect of Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures etc. Abide by the company's Health & Safety Policy.
* To report all complaints, however minor to the Manager.
* To attend meetings as required by the Manager.
* To be courteous and polite at all times and to develop good relationships with Service Users, visitors and other professionals both inside and outside the home.
* To abide by the company's policies and procedures and report any non-conformances in the correct manner.
* To answer outside telephone calls politely and relay messages efficiently.
* To promote the good name of the home and the company at all times.
* To co-operate and maintain good working relationships with all staff.
* To undertake other duties as may be reasonable requested in order to maintain the smooth running of the home.
