An exciting opportunity has become available in Ward 53 for a keen and dedicated Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker.
We currently have 1 x 37 hour post.
Ward 43 are looking to recruit a HCSW with a compassionate, caring nature who will focus on the delivery of high quality care in a very busy, Acute Ward environment.
We care for patients with a variety of medical conditions particularly respiratory illnesses, such as COPD, ILD, Lung CA, Bronchiectasis.
You will also be:
1. Dedicated and motivated in providing exceptional patient focused care
2. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
3. Work well within a multidisciplinary team and individually
4. Support the staff nurses and ward team
5. Fully supported in the induction of your role, allowing you to attend relevant training, and committed to your own professional development
6. Competent in practicing a variety of clinical skills (can be discussed at interview)
7. Have, or working towards SVQ level 3
8. Assist in the safe transfer and discharge of patients in ward 43, requiring appropriate communication with the relevant MDT and professionals out with the hospital setting
9. Have knowledge of tissue viability with up to date training in this speciality
The post requires the holder to work an 11.5 hour shift including both Dayshift and Nightshift working patterns.
