Mobile Mechanical Engineer
West Midlands based – national role
£42,000 per annum plus van
Are you an engineer that likes to work independently and plan your own day? We are looking for a mobile mechanical building services maintenance engineer, who is happy to travel and look after a number of sites including healthcare, government, and other publicly funded facilities. This is a permanent role paying up to £42,000 per annum for the right candidate.
Main responsibilities
* Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, generators, and other related machinery.
* Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
* Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functioning and prolong the lifespan of mechanical systems.
* Respond to emergency repair requests promptly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and disruptions to estate operations.
* Collaborate with other team members, contractors, and external service providers to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and installations.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment maintenance logs, and inventory management.
* Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
About you:
Essential:
* Proven technical experience in a hard facilities-related environment with sound knowledge of procedural and legislative frameworks.
* Able to work alone and as part of a team to achieve exacting standards of work.
* Previous understanding and experience of PPM/CAFM systems.
* Knowledge of low temperature hot water systems, TMVs, pressure systems, pool plant, AHU/AC systems, compressed air systems, L8, BMS & heating controls.
* Experience working in a PFI environment.
* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health and Safety qualification.
