Brother Industries (U.K.) Ltd is a manufacturing division of Brother Industries Ltd, a global multi-business enterprise with its headquarters in Japan. It manufactures products ranging from office printers to industrial machining centres. Based in Wrexham, North Wales, it is one of our award-winning carbon neutral facilities in Europe.
We have vacancies in our automation department, which is at the forefront of Brother's drive to automate both new and remanufacturing processes worldwide. Our automation team creates bespoke automated equipment / production lines, working with major suppliers and utilising processes such as 3D industrial robots, Cobots, and 3D printing.
As a mechatronic engineer, you will be involved in designing, developing, and implementing innovative mechatronic systems / solution. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electronic, and computer engineering principles.
Responsibilities:
* Design and Development: Design and develop mechatronic systems and components, including robotics, automation systems, and smart devices.
* Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance standards are met.
* System Integration: Integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components into cohesive systems.
* Problem Solving: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in existing systems and develop effective solutions.
* Project Management: Lead or contribute to project planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers.
* Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation, including technical reports, design specifications, and user manuals
Requirements:
* An engineering background with a degree or higher in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience in mechatronic system design and development.
* Experience with programming languages such as C/C#, Python.
* Familiarity with control systems, sensors, actuators, and robotics.
* Knowledge of Industrial automation and manufacturing processes.
