What you will be doing
You’ll work within the marketing team, alongside our designers and animators, to transform stunning designs into interactive, high-performing websites and tools by:
* Developing and maintaining Silktide’s websites, ensuring they are fast, responsive, and accessible.
* Implementing custom WordPress themes and plugins, tailored to our unique requirements.
* Collaborating with designers to bring concepts to life while maintaining best coding practices.
* Supporting the Silktide platform by enhancing website functionality and integrating new features.
* Contributing to side projects, such as free tools and interactive web experiences.
Where you will be working
This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham, United Kingdom. You will work three days a week from our super cool, Birmingham city center office near Colmore Row.
You should join us if
* You have 2+ years of web development experience.
* You have mastery of HTML and CSS and a solid understanding of PHP and JavaScript.
* You are proficient in WordPress development, including custom themes, plugins, ACF or ACF Pro, and Gutenberg blocks.
* You’ve used tools like Zapier and Webhooks, and are familiar with APIs.
* You enjoy translating creative designs into functional, high-performing websites in a collaborative, creative environment.
* You’re incredibly detail-oriented, appreciate clean, maintainable code, and understand the importance of version control (Git).
* You’re a problem-solver who enjoys troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing website performance.
You should not join us if
* You are uncomfortable developing fully bespoke WordPress sites with pixel-perfect implementation.
* You shy away from fast-paced environments.
* You need someone to tell you exactly what to do.
