Head of Communications Location: London (4 days onsite, 1 day working from home). Occasional travel to Manchester and Cardiff offices as required. This pivotal role will shape and execute the companys communications strategy, managing both day-to-day communication activities and broader strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure consistent messaging and position the company as a leading voice in its industry. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Execution: Lead the development and implementation of a cohesive communications strategy aligned with the organisation's vision and objectives. Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and SMT on communication matters while managing day-to-day content creation and posting. Reputation Management: Strengthen and protect the companys brand through proactive media engagement, thought leadership, and consistent brand messaging. Executive Communications: Oversee and contribute to executive-level communications, ensuring alignment with company goals and values. Support the CEO and SMT in media interviews and high-profile speaking engagements. Stakeholder Engagement: Lead communication efforts with key stakeholders, including clients, industry partners, and internal teams. Internal Communications: Drive internal communication strategies to align employees with company objectives, managing newsletters and internal content. Media Relations & Crisis Management: You will serve as the spokesperson for the organisation and manage press relations and media inquiries. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Communications Team while staying actively involved in content creation and project work. Digital Strategy Oversight & Execution: Oversee the companys digital presence, including content scheduling, digital campaigns, and engagement strategies. Award & Industry Recognition: Manage award entries and promote nominations to boost the companys industry profile. Skills and Attributes: Proven experience in senior communications leadership, ideally at the Senior Management level. Strategic thinker with expertise in internal/external communications, crisis management, and digital strategy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong experience in sports branding and sports media coverage would be advantageous Ability to lead and inspire a team while remaining hands-on with content development.
