The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. Our Covent Garden theatre has been at the heart of London and British cultural life for three centuries. We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.
The Finance, Legal & Business Affairs Department provide professional support across the organisation and are currently looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to manage the adherence of the RBO Procurement and Due Diligence Policies. This role will need to proactively drive forward efficiencies and savings in line with the objectives of the business. Reporting to the CFO, and working closely with key stakeholder departments, the postholder will manage best practice procedures and manage the supplier portfolio (including Preferred Supplier Lists) as well as assessing our supply chains to ensure compliance with the Modern Slavery Act and ensuring effective sustainable procurement practices are established and embedded within the organisation's processes. They will also be actively involved in the Finance Systems Transformation project.
The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and with confidence whilst also rolling their sleeves up and being hands on, given this is a standalone role. You will be able to drive policy and lead senior conversations whilst also having an eye for detail. The successful candidate will be able to evidence:
1. Substantial procurement experience in a tightly managed business
2. Experience of managing significant procurement budgets and delivering improvements to the business
3. The ability to devise best practice tools, measures and processes (including category management) suited to the procurement and supplier management needs of a diverse business
4. The ability to apply a set of measures to current practice and provide ROI reporting
5. Experience of managing preparation of regular management reports and delivery of sound financial / budget analysis
6. Strong relationship building skills and ability to manage relationships with key clients, colleagues or stakeholders across the organisation
