Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Metering Engineer who will play a crucial role in our Commissioning Team ensuring the accurate measurement and monitoring of water usage through the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water meters. A typical day will involve travel predominantly to support our South East Water clients, but there will also be a requirement to travel to other areas, reflecting our collaboration with our clients such as Thames Water and Southern Water. Due to this, you will need to be flexible and reactive to, at times, short notice field support. You'll be responsible for the installation of temporary and permanent metering, including ultrasonic and probe meters as well as using a combination of fault diagnostic procedures and specialist test equipment.
Ideal candidates should possess:
1. Previous experience with ultrasonic and probe meter installation
2. EUSR Water Hygiene
3. EUSR SHEA Water
4. NRSWA
5. Confined Space Entry
6. Valve Operations including CALM Networks
7. IT knowledge including software, tablet use and online reporting software is essential
8. Full UK clean Driving license
9. Proven experience in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of water meters within the water industry or similar is essential
10. Familiarity with various metering technologies, including ultrasonic meters and meter probes
All preferable but training and courses can be provided to fill any gaps.
Shift Pattern:
The standard working hours are 40 hours per week Monday - Friday, covering occasional night shifts, with up to 8 weekends per year in addition to working hours paid at time and a half.
Salary and Package:
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Pension: 4% employer contribution
Holiday: 20 days plus UK bank holidays (usually 8 days) plus long service reward
Tools and Equipment: Company utility van with air conditioning, fuel card and all tolls paid upfront
Contract mobile phone and tablet and/or toughbook
All uniform and any PPE required
