Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Business Analyst to join our Operations Team. The team is part of Tower's Middle and Back Office (MBO) function which is a key part to Tower's business ensuring the completeness and accuracy of Tower's books and records and meeting the demands of a growing and complex trading business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide data analysis and support for operations to improve the processing of financial transactions such as trades, corporate actions, taxes, commissions/fees, and all other balance sheet impacting transactions.
2. Partner with developers, Project Management, Finance, Operations and other external custodians and vendor teams to drive solutions.
3. Gather requirements and documentation to analyze and build long term operational enhancement plans related to but not limited to settlements, corporate actions, break handling, UI enhancements, new asset class implementation, reference data and metric reporting.
4. Participate in large and small scale projects, being a proactive contributor with the skills to resolve conflicts between teams around deliverables and meet deadlines.
5. Participate in UAT and release coordination for internal and vendor systems.
6. Act as Business Analyst and liaison for Operations in all regions.
7. Prioritize features and enhancements based on operations' feedback and resource constraints.
8. Identify areas of improvement, scope requirements and assist in the implementation of automation ideas.
9. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of products and features, driving for continuous growth.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
1. A Bachelor/Master's degree.
2. At least 4 years of experience working as a business analyst or product manager with exposure to Financial Services Operations or Post Trade processes, including strong working knowledge across asset classes: Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, FX, Commodities, and Crypto.
3. Strong experience with spreadsheet software such as Excel or Sheets. Some proficiency with Python and SQL is a plus but not required.
4. Experience with Task Management software such as JIRA is a plus.
5. Strong analytical and communication skills.
