Job Description:
Leonardo is looking to recruit a Lead Systems Engineer for our Basildon Site. The vacancy is with the Integrated Sensor & Protection business unit, working on the NATO JEWCS Land and Maritime Systems. The successful candidate will have experience in coordinating and managing the test and evaluation activities within a project. The successful candidate will have experience of Integration, Verification and Validation of complex systems and have experience in writing and performing Test Procedures as well as supporting engineering design review and customer acceptance activities.
Job Description
The role requires both management of integration, verification, environmental and acceptance testing activities for the system level NATO JEWCS training solution. This includes coordinating the test activities across multiple assets; managing the test problem investigation and associated resolution; reviewing test documentation from internal and external suppliers; undertaking testing to demonstrate compliance with requirement; witnessing test activities from internal and external suppliers; attending project test design reviews; document outcome of test or analysis activities; produce customer acceptance test and carry out associated test.
Key Responsibility Areas
1. Work with multiple stakeholders to establish Integration, Test and Acceptance activities at system level taking into consideration input from sub-system and supplier testing evidence.
2. Management of the Integration, Test and Acceptance activities in accordance with the project schedule.
3. Support to JEWCS System Engineering with requirements traceability.
4. Write test procedures for the platform under test using a combination of internal and supplier design information.
5. Participation in Project design review milestones as part of the Project development and test processes.
6. Maintaining configuration control for item under test.
7. Perform System Level testing (Installation of Equipment, Integration Testing and Verification Testing) in front of internal and external stakeholders.
8. Write test reports and analysis document in support of the verification evidence.
9. Attend internal and external meetings on the ITEA activities.
Skills, Qualifications and Knowledge
1. Experience in managing a small team of system engineers.
2. Experience in integration and qualification testing required to demonstrate correct implementation of the design solution to meet contracted requirements.
3. Preferred experience in RF and system integration, especially in the Defence Industry.
4. Knowledge of IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS.
