Job Description
Nelson Permanent Placements are working with our client who is a UK leading award-winning social housing contractor. Due to recent growth, they are now looking for an assistant site manager to help support the site management team and project manager, assist production, assist the various trades on site, and also carry out general telescopic handling duties.
To be considered for this role you will be:
1. Experienced within the housing sector
2. Proven track record of assisting site managers with production
3. A telescopic FLT license
4. Full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities:
1. Consistent implementation of Company policies
2. Loading and unloading of materials either to store or across the site. This will involve the quality control of this material and manual handling of heavy and/or awkward objects.
3. Ensure daily forklift checks are carried out in accordance with company policy.
4. Adapt to a variety of tasks which could include cleaning out properties and welfare facilities, mixing mortar, cleaning windows, and other general duties.
5. Open/close site when needed.
6. Monitor stock.
7. Support the site manager with the implementation and delivery of projects and programme.
8. Comply with company's Health & Safety policy.
9. Deliver all aspects of production requirements in strict accordance with relevant technical and planning documentation provided and any subsequent instructions that may be necessary from time to time.
10. Ensure presentation is correct at all times.
11. Ensure cost-effective production in line with development budgets by ensuring that the work undertaken is in full accordance with the cost provision allocated and as confirmed in cost valuations. Feedback variances to Quantity Surveyor/Buyer.
12. Identify, feedback and liaise with necessary individuals or companies to resolve on-site difficulties or problems.
13. Ensure site security and good practice is always maintained.
14. Management of site traffic - ensure subcontractors and visitors park in accordance with project plan and obey site traffic management plan.
15. Fully conform to building regulations.
16. Liaise with NHBC/Building control body.
17. Build in accordance with relevant standards, codes of practice, building regulations and warranty requirements.
18. Work with site manager to motivate, support and manage directly employed staff. Provide training, coaching, appraisal, and support.
Requirements:
1. Support Site manager to deliver the build programme.
2. Show initiative to deal with difficult situations.
3. Understand the customer journey.
4. Manage tight time frames.
5. CSCS, SMSTS/SSSTS and first aid.
