The Supply Chain Planner has responsibility for the flow of spare parts and consumables across UCC UK & Ireland sites; including purchasing and replenishment; control and management of optimum stock levels; and the day to day supplier management of product and logistic providers.
The Role:
Plan, purchase, and replenish stock for designated suppliers of spare parts and consumables, including raising purchase orders, auditing receipts, and recording invoices accurately.
Maintain and update the PO Tracker daily to ensure real-time visibility of delivery statuses.
Expedite purchase order deliveries to ensure timely arrival and fulfilment of requirements.
Conduct ongoing forecasting for spare parts to provide accurate data for optimal ordering decisions.
Build and strengthen relationships with suppliers to monitor performance, minimize lead times, and maximize supply efficiency.
Lead daily perpetual inventory counts with stores, workshop, and warehouse teams, ensuring accurate stock level analysis and reporting.
Track and monitor KPIs related to perpetual inventory accuracy.
Implement inventory analysis measures, including stock turn metrics, excess inventory identification, and slow/obsolete stock management.
Support the sales of spare parts to external customers, coordinating onward supply as required.
Ensure compliance with monthly stock reconciliation processes in line with financial reporting requirements.
Set up and manage new products, users, engineers, suppliers, and locations within the in-house system as needed.
Review, refine, and maintain processes for filter counts to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Provide regular reports and forecasts to the Head of Supply Chain, delivering actionable insights.
Create and maintain comprehensive SOPs and process maps for all responsibilities within this role.
Assist with ad hoc inventory-related projects and collaborate with supply chain colleagues as required.
The Person:
Proven experience in a stock control or purchasing environment, with a track record of driving continuous improvement.
Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems, ideally D365.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including expertise in pivot tables and formulas.
Experience working collaboratively within a supply chain team.
Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Effective communicator with excellent attention to detail.
Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to present data clearly and concisely.
Capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workloads in a high-pressure environment.
Self-motivated and able to work independently, delivering results within deadlines.
