Based on a large Facilities Management contract near Watford, we are looking for a General Assistant to be responsible for supporting the operation of the engineering stores located around the Northwood site including receipt and dispatch of spares, equipment and tools. Transportation of tools and equipment around the site in support of engineering activities and when required providing support and assistance to the CIS, Lifecycle, New Works and Site Services teams as and when directed.
What you’ll do:
* Ensure the engineering stores and workshops are inspected and maintained in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
* Ensure all persons requiring escorting are correctly identified and always comply with the site security and safety requirements.
* Carry out weekly fire alarm testing.
* Carry out reactive tasks for engraving/printing of signs and badges where required.
* Provide general assistance as and when directed in support of engineering and asset management tasks.
* Maintain a complete and up to date stores inventory of all spares, tools and equipment including updating databases and carry out regular stock checks.
* Inform the procurement team when minimum stock levels are reached to ensure critical spares are maintained at correct stock levels.
What we are looking for:
* Good team working skills, but also ability to work on your own.
* Must be able to adapt to changing priorities at a moment’s notice.
* Must be able to fully satisfy the Client security clearance minimum requirements (SC).
* Previous experience of Engineering Services Maintenance.
* Previous experience of MOD or critical environment sites.
