Transport Planner Wardle We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Transport Planner. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising the routing of our fleet vehicles to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. Supporting the Regional Transport Manager on a day-to-day basis. Key Responsibilities: Route Planning and Optimisation: Utilise routing software and/or manual methods to plan and optimise delivery routes for our fleet vehicles. Consider factors such as delivery schedules, vehicle capacities, traffic conditions, and customer preferences to maximise efficiency and minimise costs. Continuously monitor routes and make adjustments as needed to accommodate changes or unforeseen circumstances. Work closely with the sales team to ensure best in class customer service. Compliance and Safety: Stay up to date on relevant transportation regulations and ensure compliance with legal requirements, including driver hours-of-service regulations, vehicle inspections, and licensing requirements. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure that all vehicles and drivers meet safety and compliance standards. Address any compliance issues or safety concerns in a timely and effective manner. Communication and Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, and other stakeholders such as sales team regarding routing and fleet-related matters. Communicate with sales team regarding delivery schedules, delays, or other issues as needed. Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, fleet, and customer service, to optimise overall transportation operations. Qualifications: Proven experience in transportation planning, routing, fleet management and driver management. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices. Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in using routing software, GPS systems, and fleet management tools. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with drivers, customers, and colleagues. Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
