Main Purpose of the Role:
* It is the job of the Personal Assistant to assist the Employer in all areas of personal and domestic need and to act as an escort and aid to the Employer’s social and day to day necessary activities.
* By providing assistance at the right time, the Employer is enabled to lead an individual and independent lifestyle in their own home.
* The Personal Assistant should understand their role in facilitating the self-defined needs of the Employer. Personal Assistants should be able to handle the physical demands of the role; however, the Personal Assistant does not have to be a strong person physically, but general health is important
Rate of pay:
* £12.21 per hour
* Sleep rate £92.50 (10pm - 7am)
Main Duties:
* Assist with dressing and undressing and all personal care needs.
* Personal Care – administer medication as prescribed.
* Assist with preparing meals and full care support at mealtimes.
* General cleaning duties including changing of beds and household maintenance.
* Driving duties to support leisure and outdoor activities.
* Must have previous experience in caring for adults with Autism / Learning Disabilities.
* Anything else reasonably requested by the employer.
* Interact with individual to support interaction skills through play and music.
* To complete documentation required as part of agreed care plan file.
* Support with improving Employer’s independent living and life skills.
Note:
* All needs will vary daily, and the PA duties and tasks may fluctuate accordingly.

* Confidentiality: respect the privacy of the individual, to maintain a professional approach at all times.
* To arrive at the agreed time ready for work and give notification if you are going to be more than 10 minutes late.
* It is important to establish a close working relationship when working on a one to one basis if any problems should arise to discuss and resolve them as soon as possible. To be as open in your communication as possible.
* Attitude: appreciate the stresses and strain involved and the effect this can have on the acceptance of support. Understand the preservation of dignity and independence is paramount.
* Respect the possessions and equipment in the home. Personal Assistants should also respect the relationships of the individual and support family and visitors in the household. Joining in at social occasions should only be at the invitation of the Family.

* Reliable and trustworthy
* Able to accept responsibility
* Able to use own initiative
* Able to follow instruction as directed by Employer
* Sensitive and calm manner
* Car driver is essential with clean full UK Driving Licence
* Willing to cover additional hours to cover annual leave/sickness
* Previous experience essential in caring for children/adults with Autism/Learning Disabilities
* Able to work as part of a small team
* Organised
Additional Information:
* Training – will be provided alongside another Personal Assistant until training and all tasks are complete. The individual needs to be familiar with the daily routine to ensure the least disruption is created to the individual being cared for.
