More about what you’ll do:
This role will see you reporting to the Operations Manager - NSW/ACT. You will be responsible for Sydney local and regional deliveries. The territory will be split between 1 Team Leader, 2 Leading Hands, 5 warehouse team members and approximately 40 drivers in each covering local and regional areas. Your focus will be in operating safely and in accordance with all Company and Government processes, policies, regulations and legislation. Managing costs and improving efficiencies while maintaining a high level of customer service, sustaining our value of Service Excellence. You will need to analyse data and identify concerns and areas for improvement, continuously looking at ways to innovate.
Your roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Ensure a Safe and Compliant workplace to meet standards of CoR
* DG handling Equipment checks
* Manual Handling Techniques
* Relevant workplace health and safety legislation and guidelines
* Plan and supervise daily deliveries for a fleet of approximately 40 drivers in your territory Maintain a solid relationship with all our drivers
* Lead and motivate a small team of warehouse team members who support the Outbound Process
* Ensure all drivers sort and load in a timely and safe manner to ensure a prompt departure
* Monitor overall driver performance and ensure compliance of all policies and procedures Manage new driver induction process, ongoing training, and assessment
* Ensure your team respond to daily transport enquiries from internal and external stakeholders in an efficient and effective manner
* Proactively identify transport operational issues, potential problems, and opportunities, able to recommend corrective actions where required
* Build and foster successful business relationships with key stakeholders
* Adapt to seasonal & project related increases in volume implement change with limited disruption
* Monitor transport budget to ensure costs are effectively controlled, provide reporting
More about you:
To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to manage and motivate a team of store people in a busy warehouse environment that deals with fast moving products at high volume.
You will display the following attributes:
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the Transport Operations industry or experience within the Outbound department of a busy FMCG DC
* Demonstrated experience in fleet management and transport allocation in a high-volume and fast paced customer service environment
* Demonstrated skills in budget management, including P&L experience and reporting Strong awareness of Safety and Compliance Management
* Highly motivated and prepared to take the initiative
* Results driven, seeking out opportunities for continuous improvement Sound knowledge of Sydney, Newcastle/Canberra metro areas
* Exceptional time management skills with the ability to juggle conflicting priorities in a demanding environment
* Always maintain a professional and positive attitude Work well in a team environment
* The ability to adapt quickly to changes in priorities and situations A high level of self-motivation with the ability to think on your feet
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with key stakeholders
* Excellent numerical, verbal, and written communication skills Systems knowledge of use of 1stTier WMS, and Microsoft Office
