We invite applicants for a part-time Locum Consultant Orthodontist position (4 Programmed Activities), with the potential to transition to a permanent role, as we seek to replace a retiring colleague. This position is within the Dental & Maxillofacial Department at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, Surrey.
The Orthodontic department at East Surrey Hospital (established in 2019) has dedicated facilities for the diagnosis and treatment which include in-house CBCT and has close links with the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, where orthognathic surgery is undertaken.
The successful applicant will be joining a supportive team of 2 part-time orthodontic consultants and will provide a comprehensive orthodontic advice service to the local population, working alongside other consultant and senior clinicians in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry and Special Care Dentistry to provide advice and treatment for complex multidisciplinary cases within the department. There are established orthognathic, joint orthodontic-paediatric and joint orthodontic-oral surgery clinics with full support from an established nursing and administrative team.
Main duties of the job
Applicants should be fully registered and be on the specialist register (or be eligible within six months of the interview date) with the General Dental Council and hold the intercollegiate FDS in Orthodontics or equivalent experience.
