The organisation has continued to thrive and now employs over 330 people in our residential and supported living services across South Birmingham and Warwickshire. Due to our continued expansion, we currently have exciting opportunities for Support Workerswho can demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach to supporting vulnerable adults with learning disabilities and or mental health illness and other complex needsat our supported living services in South Birmingham. The role: Working an average of 42 hours per week on a flexible shift pattern, the successful Support Worker will support the learning and mental health needs of the service users enabling them to maintain their tenancies and to lead a meaningful and worthwhile life within the community giving practical help, care, guidance and support as detailed within their individual care plans and risk assessments. Experience/Qualifications : Ideally you will have previous experience working within a residential care or supported living setting with vulnerable people and hold a Level 2 Diploma in care or an equivalent qualification. However, applications from candidates with no experience who can demonstrate the caring qualities and values that we seek in our staff are welcome. The position will may include lone working at times and therefore the ability to remain calm in an emergency is essential. In addition, the successful applicants will need to be self-motivated, self-disciplined and thrive on being able to work independently to high standards.
