We are looking for a General Machinist - DCDD for a contract based in on behalf of our globally respected client Rolls Royce who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planets vital power needs. Job description - the role You will operate in a busy, world-class engineering and manufacturing environment and be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. Your role as a Machinist would be machining discs and drums using multiple machining platforms to conforming standards, this could be roughing, intermediate or finishing operations. You will work with manufacturing programming engineers to implement continuous improvements within the machining programmes. The on-time delivery of components right first-time quality is a key objective within DCDD, and the machining team play a pivotal part of delivering this goal and delivering our commitments to customer on time. As a Skilled Machinist you will be responsible for: Work to Rolls Royce's Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high-quality inspection across a variety of different components and product families. Operate a variety of measuring equipment, including, Micrometres, plug gauges,and surface finish equipment. The interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and writtenspecifications and understanding programmes. The assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facilitymeets the required standards. Work within a team to effectively to ensure we hit our customer commitments. What we require from the candidate: NVQ Level 3 and time served engineeringapprenticeship, with previous experience relevant to the role you are applying for is essential. Clear and demonstrated understanding ofdrawing interpretation, calibration, technical instruction and asset care Looking for candidates who are pro-activeand patient individuals that are capable of managing their time effectively.
