Quality Engineer
About this opportunity
Main Responsibilities:
1. Uphold compliance with the Quality Control Plan, ensuring all process control parameters are maintained within specifications.
2. In case of non-conformance (product or raw material), ensure contingency actions are taken and suspicious stock is isolated using SAP.
3. Manage customer complaints whilst ensuring that preventative measures are taken.
4. Measure, analyse, and report the costs of poor quality.
5. Maintain measurement gauges and follow calibration requirements.
6. Maintain Crown Integrated Management Systems documentation.
7. Prepare for 3rd party (customer, certification body etc.) audits.
8. Improve quality performance through the utilisation of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Cpk/Ppk (Process Capability & Performance), and Continuous Improvement techniques.
9. Be the site champion for Food Safety and Defence initiatives.
10. Work closely with the shift quality team and train them in case of any process, procedure, workflow etc. changes.
Required Education and Qualifications:
* Degree level qualification in Quality or Mechanical Engineering.
* Alternatively, qualified by experience of a Quality Auditor role in a manufacturing environment (3 years minimum).
Required Knowledge and Experience:
* Industry experience in FMCG, automotive or similar manufacturing industries.
* Hands-on experience in root cause analysis, problem solving and process standardization. Ideally a practitioner of QA problem solving and improvement methods (8D, RCA, DMAIC, etc.).
* Strong analytical skills, running reports in Excel, using SAP QM, and various document management tools.
* Strong understanding of process capability and Minitab calculations.
* Good level of knowledge and experience of SAP QM transactions.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
