An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Prison Healthcare as a Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner. This is a new post to support medical and nursing staff based across the four Scottish Prisons across NHS GG&C to support the physical and mental wellbeing of our patients. This post is peripatetic and included all four prisons within GG&C. HMP Barlinnie, HMP Low Moss, Lilias CCU and HMP Greenock.
Essential criteria:
• First level registered nurse currently registered with NMC.
• Recorded as a nurse independent/supplementary prescriber (V300) with the NMC.
• Formally recognised by the employer as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
• Significant comprehensive post registration experience. Some of which must be at a senior level within an acute or community environment
• Masters qualification in advanced practice.
• Competent in the following areas:
1. Clinical assessment
2. Clinical reasoning, judgement and diagnostic decision making.
3. Anatomy and pathophysiology
4. Leading, delivering and evaluating care
5. Practice learning/ transferable work learning (or can evidence equivalent through their professional portfolio)
6. Can demonstrate experience in managing staff and leading a team
