At NFU Mutual, our Internal Communications team plays a vital role in shaping the way we engage with employees across the business. We provide specialist support to create a shared understanding of NFU Mutual’s business strategy and key objectives, ensuring that everyone is aligned and working towards the same goals. Our team is passionate about delivering effective communication and works collaboratively and creatively to achieve this. As an Internal Communications intern, you’ll help refresh our corporate and business strategy communications while supporting the planning of our Senior Leader Conference in September. You’ll shape event content, manage stakeholders, and coordinate logistics to ensure a seamless and engaging experience. You’ll also gain practical experience using internal communication tools such as Viva Engage, Viva Amplify, and the MS Office suite. You'll develop your skills in stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, and corporate event planning. Working within our business partners, you’ll collaborate with senior leaders, large-scale change programmes, and strategic advisors. You’ll also balance proactive and reactive communication needs, handling sensitive business information with confidentiality and trust. By the end of the programme, you’ll have played a key role in delivering our refreshed business strategy launch event, gaining valuable experience in internal communications and business engagement. You’ll also get the opportunity to showcase your learning to members of the senior leadership team. Throughout the internship, you’ll receive guidance from a programme manager and a buddy, ensuring you feel supported. On track for a minimum 2:1 honours degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, English Literature, or a Creative/Arts-related subject, you bring strong written and verbal communication skills to the role. Previous experience in a customer-facing role would be desirable You have a natural ability to build relationships and adapt your communication style to different audiences. Highly organised and detail-oriented, you can plan and coordinate effectively while balancing multiple priorities. You also demonstrate: Strong digital literacy, with confidence using Microsoft Office software. A proactive approach and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal A ‘bigger picture thinking’ mindset, with an interest in shaping internal messaging.
