Learning Support Mentor ( Health & Personal Care ) Based in Cambridge Monday to Friday 8:30am till 16:30pm £11.52 to £12.00 per hour Temporary to ongoing Term time only Duties include: Support students with a range of learning difficulties and other disabilities on a 1:1 or group basis. Be able to make adjustments to encourage students to engage with lessons. Mentor students and encourage them to remain on task. Develop skills needed so that the students can understand the tasks given in class. Assist with personal care and health needs. Escort students to all lessons on their timetable throughout the day. May need to assist students to local shops and or encourage activities off campus. Ideal candidate: Past or current experience in the care sector either assisting children, young adults or the elderly in a school, residential or assisted living environment. Have a GCSE English grade C / 4 or equivalent or are willing to work towards gaining this qualification. Will enjoy supporting students on a variety of courses. Have recent experience working with people within special education ( desirable not essential.) Excellent socialising and communication skills.
