About The Role In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the development and implementation of our EDI ‘Shine’ strategy aimed at fostering an inclusive, equitable, and diverse environment within Young Epilepsy and St Piers. You will assist in driving our commitment to creating meaningful and lasting changes that promote belonging and fair representation at all levels. In the first year of your role, you will work with the EDI manager to build key relationships with staff and area heads collaborating across departments to ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion principles are woven into our daily operations and long-term strategy. You will conduct research into best practices and have undergone training in specific areas of interest, you will assist in the planning and delivery of training and events, and helping to maintain an inclusive workplace culture This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about social justice, equity, and creating change. You will be instrumental in advancing our mission to build a more inclusive and engaged community, while also gaining valuable experience in the growing field of EDI work. What we need from you You should have a basic understanding and passion for equity, diversity, and inclusion practices and legislation, and a genuine desire to make meaningful change to create a more equitable and diverse workplace. You should have the ability to engage with a variety of people in a meaningful way, with colleagues across different departments. You will be able to build relationships and act as a meaningful ally to members of underrepresented communities and understand the effect of privilege vs oppression and intersectionality. You must be able to deliver training and group sessions with the support of the EDI manager.
