About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team at Oakham Shires School. The successful candidate will have experience of working with pupils who have autism and associated special education needs. They will be responsible for delivering specialist lessons, providing individualized support, and contributing to the development of our pupils' life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that meet the needs of all pupils
• Develop and implement individualized education plans that cater to the unique needs of each pupil
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions and effective communication between staff members
• Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils, promoting their social, emotional, and behavioral well-being

Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification
• Experience of working with pupils who have autism and associated special education needs
• Strong knowledge of autism and developmental trauma, with the ability to apply this knowledge in all interactions with pupils
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
• A compassionate and caring approach, with a focus on promoting the well-being and outcomes of all pupils
