Job Title: Health and Safety Officer \n Location: Manchester\n Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM\n Salary: £40,000- £50,000\n\nPackage: Company Vehicle, Enhanced pension, Training, Technical progression & 25 + 8 annual leave.\n\nCompany Overview: \n Innotech is currently hiring in partnership alongside one of the UK's fastest-growing businesses within the power generation and renewables industry. They are seeking a health and safety officer to join their SHEQ team.\n With a team of over 200 professionals and a global presence, the company blends innovative technology, in-house manufacturing, and strong customer values-sustainability, flexibility, and integrity-to deliver reliable, tailored power solutions with exceptional after-sales support.\n\nMain Purpose of the Role: \n\nEnsure compliance with current health and safety legislation and regulations in Great Britain (GB).\nReport serious health and safety incidents and legislative breaches to the Group H&S Officer and Head of SHEQ in a timely manner.\nInvestigate incidents and report findings.\nCommunicate with clients regarding health and safety matters. \n Goals & Objectives: \n\nSupport the maintenance of the Group ISO Integrated Management System and related procedures.\nAssist in developing health and safety strategies and internal policies.\nConduct risk assessments and recommend risk mitigation measures.\nDevelop safe operational procedures considering relevant hazards.\nPerform regular in-house and on-site inspections.\nSupport training delivery for managers and employees.\n Key Responsibilities: \n\nMaintain audit and inspection records; suggest improvements.\nInvestigate incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.\nOversee safe equipment installation and hazardous substance management.\nProvide advice on and maintain an up-to-date COSHH register and storage compliance.\nEnforce health and safety procedures and report non-conformities.\nDeliver training and carry out detailed risk assessments for high-risk tasks.\nCoordinate with other departments on project safety compliance.\nPrepare and implement safety documentation.\nConduct housekeeping inspections and internal audits.\nEnsure portable electrical equipment meets regulatory standards.\nReview SOPs, method statements, and risk assessments.\nProvide induction and cross-training for staff.\nAttend SHEQ meetings and support the Group H&S Officer as needed.\nPerform additional duties as required by management.\n Essential Criteria: \n Qualifications: NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety or equivalent/higher.\n Knowledge & Experience:\n\nMinimum of 3 years' recent experience in a similar construction-related role.\nSolid understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 in an engineering or civil engineering context within the UK.\nFamiliarity with CDM, LOLER, PUWER, Electricity at Work Act, and Gas Safety Regulations.\nExperience developing policies and risk assessments.\nProven ability to implement, monitor, and audit safety processes.\nKnowledge of ISO standards: 45001, 14001, and 9001.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Skills & Abilities:\n\nResults-focused and collaborative team player.\nStrong risk assessment and control skills.\nSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently.\nExcellent communication and confidentiality awareness.\nTraining delivery capabilities.\nTechnically capable of understanding complex engineering scenarios.\nEmpathetic and good listener.Other: Full current driving licence \n\nDesirable Criteria: \n\nNEBOSH Environmental Management or equivalent/higher.\nExperience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).\nCurrent Gas Safe registration.Innotech Partners limited ((phone number removed)) acts as an Employment Agency and is a subsidiary of Talentia Group
