SF Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturing business to recruit a buyer. Managing a direct spend, the role will oversee responsibility of a commodity group. This is a great opportunity to further grow and develop your procurement career.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Research & deliver the implementation of overall Strategic Procurement for the business.
2. Manage tactical procurement activities with daily routines and deadlines installed and adhered to.
3. Manage departmental KPIs and improvement targets.
4. Manage supplier development planning with key supplier groups.
5. Manage ongoing cost down program(s) and initiatives.
6. Promote and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Monitor supplier quality, initiating containment activity and agreeing sustainable corrective action with suppliers.
8. Evaluate supplier performance on a regular basis, putting development plans in place and validating/approving all major price increases.
Skillset Requirements:
1. Demonstrable purchasing experience; manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential.
2. CIPS qualified or working towards it is desirable.
