We've an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join DP World at our Minworth facility in Birmingham. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for 1st line support of all IT hardware across the site for both DP World, & customer equipment.

How you will contribute
* Responsible for 1st line support of all IT hardware across the site for both DP World and customer equipment, liaising with 3rd party support groups where required
* General desktop application support, installation and configuration of system applications and providing end user support for service requests
* Responsible for configuring, maintenance and housekeeping of production system data, and supporting any inputs/outputs that aid in the population of any systems that assist in operational tasks such as business intelligence tools, dashboards and any localized bespoke systems.
* Daily management and execution of IT Support Tickets, both internally and where applicable those raised with any customer support functions (externally)
* Management and recording of all assets on site, ensuring maintenance of site records and centralized CMDB entries to provide an accurate record of site equipment
* Creation and maintenance of site related user documentation – IT Knowledge Base articles, User Guides, Single Point Lessons, Production Documentation
* Document and deliver IT training to support and overcome any knowledge gaps that may be identified (such as common desktop application queries)
* Follow up on production problems & assist in route cause analysis and long-term corrective actions
* Participation in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for any system enhancements or process changes that are influenced by the IT systems
What will you bring
* A solid understanding of IT fundamentals, typically studied to college level or above or with a suitable previous IT background
* A high level of knowledge of common desktop applications (e.g MS Office) and a good understanding of operating systems
* Suitable hardware support exposure of desktops/laptops/peripherals – break fix/driver installation/troubleshooting etc
* A good knowledge of desktop Operating System platforms (Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 11) and exposure to basic enterprise administration activities
* Previous exposure to production ERP/MRP/WMS systems is of benefit
