Your placement will be within our Sulzer Services UK & Nordics division—an industry leader dedicated to cutting-edge parts and premium maintenance solutions for pumps, turbines, compressors, motors, and generators. Overview of the Role
As a Year in Industry placement student specialising in Industrial Engineering, you'll be at the forefront of advancing the industrial development strategy for our UK Service Centres of the Future. Your mission is to deliver crucial industrial projects that drive organisational transformation and sustainable growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, innovate processes, and shape the future of our service centres. Join us in making a lasting impact! Additionally, benefit from joint mentoring by the Head of Strategic Projects and the Head of Engineering for comprehensive exposure and support.
What you’ll be doing
1. Evaluate industrialization opportunities, considering innovations, process advancements, and technologies.
2. Assess and recommend improvements in marketplace technology and processes.
3. Support capital investment cases to enhance resource capacity, competitiveness, and productivity.
4. Contribute to developing an industrialization roadmap.
5. Create project plans, lead delivery against milestones, and manage risks to ensure successful outcomes.
Experience and knowledge required
1. Possess a relevant degree in industrial engineering or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in engineering principles.
2. Proficiency in handling multiple projects concurrently.
3. An understanding of business and financial aspects.
4. A proactive and innovative approach.
5. Adaptability is crucial, as the role involves travel across the UK and occasional international travel.
6. A willingness to embrace diverse environments and work collaboratively is essential.
7. A valid passport and a full UK driving licence.
