Position
The role of the Team Coordinator in North Tyneside is important within the community team as you represent Coquet Trust to the people we support, their families, local agencies, and lead your team effectively.
The purpose of this role is to enable the people we support to live their own life through the application of person-centred approaches, promoting individual choice, decision-making, control, and independence.
This role requires a patient and empathetic individual who can provide person-centered support using active support and positive behaviour support techniques. The ideal candidate will be passionate about empowering the person to develop her independence and life skills while ensuring her safety and wellbeing.
Support Responsibilities
* Support people in accordance with their needs and wishes as detailed in their person-centred support plans;
* Safeguard vulnerable adults, recognising and reporting any disclosure, suspicion or evidence of harm, risk of harm, abuse or neglect;
* Encourage and enable the people we support to become active members of their local and wider communities;
* Support people to develop and maintain good family relationships and friendships;
* Support people in all aspects of their daily living, for example, going shopping, cooking, and budgeting;
* Deliver personal care (if required) with dignity and respect;
* Support people to stay healthy and safe, following guidance from health professionals;
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, family members, and professionals;
* Raise any concerns about practice or the people we support in a timely manner;
* Assist people towards volunteering and paid employment;
* Attend training, including induction training and team meetings;
* Maintain confidentiality at all times in line with GDPR and Coquet Trust Confidentiality Policy.
Senior Responsibilities
* Lead and act as the first point of contact in the absence of the Support Manager;
* Assist the Support Manager with the day-to-day supervision of Support Workers;
* Model person-centred practice and contribute to the induction and support of new colleagues;
* Ensure that all of Coquet Trust’s policies and procedures are adhered to;
* Support the line Manager to monitor and manage the performance of individual team members;
* Promote positive Risk Taking, Active Support, and Positive Behaviour Support.
Recording Responsibilities
* Ensure that support plans reflect the changing needs and wishes of the people we support;
* Accurately complete documentation, including people we support records.
Requirements
Professional Qualities:
* Represent Coquet Trust in a professional manner;
* Experience of leading, developing, and motivating team members;
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
* Clear written and verbal communication skills;
* Willing to undertake required training;
* Available for flexible working patterns including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins;
* NVQ Level 3 or above in social care or equivalent (or willingness to obtain it).
Personal Qualities:
* To take pride in your work and carry out tasks to a high standard;
* To be a positive and motivational individual;
* The ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities;
* Possession of a Full UK Driving Licence is preferred.
