Casual Library Assistant A Library Assistant is the first point of contact for users of the library. Library Assistants deal with the public in person and on the telephone, answering enquiries, assisting them in using the self service machines and public computers, staffing the council information point and signposting to other agencies. This post is a casual position to cover for staff absences on an ad hoc basis at Alsager, Congleton, Holmes Chapel, Middlewich, Sandbach and Cheshire East Mobile Libraries. You should also have a willingness to engage with individuals of all ages and backgrounds and have experience of working in a customer facing environment. The role involves shelving returned books, issuing items, helping people use the self-service machines and the public access computers, staffing the customer service point and assisting with events for adults and children. The post is a casual position and hours will be on an ad hoc basis to cover for annual leave and sickness in several Cheshire East Libraries in the south of the Borough.
