Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, St Helens Council, Adults Disability & Mental Health Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within an Adult Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of vulnerable adults under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
The responsibilities will include:
1. All Age Disability and Mental Health team work with people from 18 years to 67 who have a physical disability, learning disability or enduring mental health diagnosis. The team is also responsible for the statutory functions of the Mental Health Act 1983.
2. Carry a complex caseload, undertake safeguarding investigations, and support the AMHPs on the AMHP rota.
3. Support provided to the AMHP rota may require some out of hours working but this can vary and support will be provided via the lead AMHP.
4. Undertake capacity, best interest decisions and COP DOL applications including 21 A Challenges.
5. You will receive monthly supervision, weekly one-to-one with one of the managers, and an informal weekly team catch-up. The team currently works from home and you will be provided with all the necessary IT equipment and support to enable you to do this successfully.
6. The team is very busy and the work is very complex but you will be supported to carry out the work. The team is extremely supportive of each other and are committed to upholding the values of social work.
7. Liaise with other professionals.
8. 36 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
9. 2 Month Temporary Contract.
10. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
