We are seeking a hands-on and personable SecOps Analyst to join our team. Due to the size of our business and the team, you will have the ability to work in a role that offers lots of variety and exposure to multiple aspects of 1st line and operational security.
The team places a strong emphasis on continual learning and upskilling, so you will benefit from having lots of support in your development and gaining security qualifications.
The team:
Part of a wider, agile Technology function (Octopus Labs), the SecOps team is a hands-on and passionate group of 5 who provide support across the Octopus Investments business of c.650 people.
Octopus Labs use the latest technology to build state-of-the-art systems to support our business processes. Our team is constantly looking for new technologies, and people at all levels of the function are encouraged and expected to contribute ideas on how we can improve our products. What will you be doing?
1. Security Operations work tirelessly with everyone to protect Octopus from cyber security disruptions, provide clear leadership and direction when responding to cyber security incidents, and build relationships and processes that make Octopus a leader in responsible cyber security.
2. Using cyber security tools and techniques to identify and respond to real-time incidents and threats.
3. Identifying security enhancements, including alert creation and automation of tasks.
4. Working collaboratively with Octopus Labs teams to ensure end-point security controls are operating efficiently and effectively.
5. Activities include Incident Response, Phishing campaigns, Vulnerability Management, Automation, and Data Loss Prevention.
Qualifications
Ideally, you’ll have:
Experience in a SecOps role, with hands-on experience of Incident response and applying security principles, monitoring network and system security logs, and assisting infrastructure and development teams to identify, analyze, and resolve issues.
Exposure to performing awareness campaigns to increase Security knowledge company-wide.
You will be leaning on the experience of the team to help and support you – not being afraid to ask for help. You work well on your own and in a team.
You thrive on a challenge and solving problems with a love for technology and figuring out how things work.
You have a Security qualification (i.e. CCSP/CCSK/GSEC/CISSP) and coding skills (i.e. Python, Bash).
You have experience with the following security technologies and principles:
1. Incident Response - identification, investigation, and remediation of cyberattacks.
2. EDR, AV, and SIEM.
3. Web proxy and/or Email gateways.
4. Vulnerability Management.
5. Cloud Security.
6. Data Leakage Prevention Controls.
7. DNS and Networking.
