About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Electrical Supervisor to join our team on a prestigious project at Heathrow Airport. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile, large-scale project at one of the busiest and most complex airports in the world. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and overseeing electrical installations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project requirements. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong background in electrical systems within the construction and infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and manage the electrical team on-site, ensuring work is carried out safely and to the highest quality standards.
2. Oversee electrical installations, including lighting, power distribution, and security systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and relevant regulations.
3. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other site supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely project delivery.
4. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols.
5. Provide technical support and guidance to the electrical team, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
6. Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance on-site, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
7. Monitor project timelines and ensure electrical work is completed on schedule and within budget.
8. Maintain accurate site records, including work logs, inspections, and relevant compliance documentation.
9. Ensure all electrical work complies with the latest electrical standards, including the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Essential Requirements:
We are looking for candidates with proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor, with a solid background in electrical installations on large construction or infrastructure projects. You should have in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, regulations, and safety standards, including the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Strong leadership and team management skills are crucial, as you will be responsible for supervising a team of electricians. The role requires experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with the ability to meet deadlines and resolve issues effectively. Excellent communication and coordination skills are needed, as you will be liaising with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders. A CSCS card (or equivalent) and relevant qualifications in electrical installations (e.g., NVQ/SVQ Level 3, City & Guilds) are required. Previous experience working on large infrastructure projects, especially in airports, commercial buildings, or transportation hubs, is highly desirable.
Desirable:
SMSTS or SSSTS qualification would be beneficial, as would First Aid certification and additional health and safety training. Experience working in a highly regulated environment, such as airports or similar critical infrastructure projects, is a plus. The ability to pass airport security clearance is also required.
