Join Our Team: IV Care Specialist
We're seeking an experienced nurse to join our team as an IV Care Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of IV care for our patients. Working closely with our IV Access Nurse Specialist, Infection Control Teams, and senior colleagues, you'll be responsible for monitoring and reviewing IV management practices to guarantee that our patients receive optimal, safe care at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert guidance and support to junior staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in IV care.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement best practices in IV management, promoting a culture of excellence and patient safety.
* Monitor and review IV practices, including Antimicrobial Stewardship (ANTT) and documentation, to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based solutions.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

Person specification
Essential criteria
* Degree / diploma in nursing studies (or equivalent nursing qualification and experience).
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (RN1 Adult).
* Significant post registration experience at band 5.
* Demonstrates specialist knowledge in IPC/IV therapy underpinned by theory through CPD.
* Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentoring learners.
* Evidence of involvement in protocols and clinical audit.
* Evidence of relevant involvement in meeting the clinical governance objectives.
* Evidence of involvement in a service improvement.
* Effective communicator able to communicate highly complex and sensitive information.
* Evidence of persuasive and influencing skills and the ability to manage conflict.
* Evidence of ability to use a range of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
* Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs.
