Job overview
The Undergraduate Medical Education Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital is looking to appoint an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Senior Education Fellow for a fixed term period of 12 months, with the potential for further extension. The role has been specifically designed to support clinicians who wish to demonstrate a commitment to education as part of their career vision and training journey and provides the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised education qualification. You will join a team of five other clinical fellows based in medical and surgical specialties.
Applications are welcome from interested candidates from across the seniority spectrum. The minimum requirement is 2 years O&G clinical experience within the NHS post foundation years (completion of ST2 or equivalent).
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative department delivering teaching to medical students across a range of year groups from both Nottingham and Sheffield University. A funded qualification in Medical Education with 1 day a week protected study time will aid professional development in delivering teaching across a range of modalities – from theoretical teaching based in classrooms to bedside teaching and immersive simulation.
Clinical skills will be maintained with 1 day a week clinical work appropriate to trainee experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a named clinical supervisor.
