Job summary The Health Care support worker role will function as part of the team within the Discharge lounge to provide a seamless service & high quality care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The HCSW is expected to undertake care to meet the needs of the patients and relatives under the supervision of a qualified nurse, working within the Trust's policies and procedures and the philosophy of thedischarge lounge. Working collaboratively with wards, and ED, in the care of patients being discharged from the hospital, and providing a safe and comfortable environment before discharge. It is expected that the Health Care support worker will continue to develop their own capabilities and knowledge of nursing tasks in line with the Trust's career pathway.
