YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…
* Ensuring that maintenance work complies with statutory engineering standards and requirements using own knowledge and the support of other engineers.
* Performing fault diagnosis, maintaining and servicing work safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Reading and extracting information from engineering drawings, specification diagrams and maintenance manuals.
* Preparing the work area for maintenance of plant, systems or components. Reinstating the work area after completing the maintenance of plant, systems and components. Conducting safe and effective handover of plant and equipment to others and accepting and confirming responsibility for the control of plant and equipment within the work area isolation boundary.
* Improving asset care standards across the department and ensuring that the site is complaint.
* Supporting and developing continuous improvement activities based on captured field data within the department to identify improvement opportunities and drive actions to completion.
* Using site maintenance systems to ensure all maintenance documentation is completed and archived in accordance with site procedures.
* Providing detailed technical guidance for the planning and completion of activities using the engineering planning system.
* Ensuring that contractors are welcomed/supervised during service visits where necessary prior to accessing facilities.
YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU HAVE…
* An experienced and time-served engineer through an apprenticeship, NVQ, or HNC - electrical biased but with mechanical knowledge.
* An 18th edition qualification.
* Experience welding and fabrication (desirable).
* Experience of working as a maintenance technician within a manufacturing environment demonstrating an understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably food processing.
* Experience working with manufacturing systems; related controls and instrumentation systems including PLC’s.
* Someone who enjoys a hands-on approach to engineering, with demonstratable practical engineering skills.
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of current relevant legislations.
Requirements
Additional Information:
* Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.40pm, which works with ferry times to allow someone from the mainland to fill the position.
* They would be joining 9 others in the engineering/maintenance team.
